Why are people watching the Big Brother Naija Show?

The Buzz Around the House

Big Brother Naija has always been a hot topic, with fans eagerly anticipating the launch of each new season. The show is more than just entertainment; it’s a cultural phenomenon. From the moment the housemates are introduced, social media lights up with discussions, predictions, and, of course, plenty of memes. Why People Are Watching

For many, Big Brother Naija offers a unique mix of entertainment and social commentary. The housemates come from diverse backgrounds, bringing with them stories and experiences that resonate with the audience. It’s a chance to see how people interact in a confined space, facing challenges and tasks that test their limits.

Or Are You Not?

On the other hand, not everyone is tuning in. Some people find the show’s format repetitive or are simply not interested in reality TV. Others might be too busy with work or personal commitments to keep up with the daily episodes. And let’s not forget those who prefer to stay away from the drama and focus on other forms of entertainment.

How Are You Watching?

If you are watching, the question then becomes, How are you catching up with the housemates? With so many options available, from Showmax streaming to traditional cable on DSTv or GOTv, staying connected to the Big Brother house has never been easier. And if you haven’t set up your subscription yet, platforms like VTpass make it simple to get started. Just a few clicks, and you’re ready to watch all the action unfold in real-time.

The show has a way of bringing people together, sparking conversations, and creating unforgettable moments. So, are you watching the Big Brother Naija house this season? If not, you might want to reconsider—because you never know what you might miss!

BBNaija ShineYaEye Reunion Final

The BBNaija ShineYaEye Reunion Final episode aired on Friday night, 17th of June. Whoosh! It’s been quite the ride. This particular housemates have divided opinions so much. Some are sad to see the show end, while others are glad it’s finally over. Hmm. Truth is, they gave content. Whether it was good or bad is left for you to decide, but they brought the game. There was something to talk about everyday on the reunion show. Call it an escape from your normal routine. Well, it’s finally over, whichever side of the divide you fall on. Here’s our take on the BBNaija ShineYaEye Reunion Final talking points.

WhiteMoney, Maria, Pere and Tega

Ebuka asked the housemates who changed the most after the show in their opinion, and most of them voted WhiteMoney. Shocked, are we? Those who did speak said in the house he was this caring person, and suddenly, outside the house, he became this person who was too busy, or who didn’t care anymore. Ah, well. What we can say is that dude’s strategy obviously worked. He’s too busy making bangers as the musical genius that he is right? Init?

Following that, Peace relayed a situation where Maria walked up to her outside the house about something her fans said. Home girl Maria instantly said she couldn’t recall the incident and if Peace said it happened, then she doesn’t know what to say. All I can say is omo, fear Maria o.

After that, Tega called Pere out for not defending her during the media rounds. He apparently didn’t want to get involved in the drama. Tega was definitely emosh. Her voice when she said “But I begged you.” See where game has ended up sha.

Emmanuel, Liquorose, Cross and Angel, Beatrice and Pere

On the other hand, Emmanuel stated that he never asked Liquorose out, and what they were was never defined. Liquor however rebuffed that to say that it was defined. “Shame on you bro” was the highlight of that exchange, with Liquorose going on to explain the vibe they had. Well, that ship has clearly sunk.

Cross and Angel were back at it. What have you done for me, I did this for your family. This their fight, I don’t know what to think about it honestly. What are you guys even dragging? Can you just rest since you’re not doing again?

It is worth mentioning that Beatrice says she can have Pere anytime she wants him because she is a beautiful lady. Pere said that confidence is attractive. I don’t know what to think. Lol. Are you playing? What kind of playing is this?

And The Rest…

Cross said he would go back into the house if he had another chance. Because there are bills to pay in the outside world. This guy! True though, we know you have bills, and that’s why we’re here. To take care of your Cable TV paymentselectricity billsairtime and data needs, insurance and education bills and more, all on VTpass!

Ebuka, in closing the show, did say that they were the best dressed housemates on the reunion show since it started. We can’t dispute that though. lol. He also did say that despite a lot of the word out there (that they were boring), this season recorded the most votes so far in a BBNaija season. So what you guys talking about? Anyways, Season 7 is coming up, you know who to trust with your bills payments so you don’t miss out on any of the content live.

Tega and Boma Situationship: Reunion Drama

There was more drama in the episode 11 of the BBnaija Shine Ya Eye reunion show as the focus was on the Tega and Boma situationship. Whoosh. What a night it was. What a show it has been. The episode 11 of the show definitely came with a lot of heat. This was definitely one of the most controversial “ships” in and out of the house.

Before we got here though, it’s worth giving a mention to the “Crossgel” shippers. After episode 9 had aired, and Angel and Cross had both shed light on the “ship” situation, with Angel, more or less saying she felt she was more invested in the friendship that Cross, to the point of asking him to say all the things he had done for her. Omo, crazy. She did get bashed afterwards but I think what we say was a lady who cared about someone and wasn’t getting the same energy in return. Sad, really. Truly.

Consequently, Cross did try to defend himself though. He did say that he was at the moment, scared of relationships. It seems however that Angel is just forming hard girl. She seems to like, really like Cross. On the other hand, why does everyone say “we have a really good friendship.” That is to say, all of them are “just friends” now. No wahala. However, Cross and Angel both said they no longer wanted the friendship. Shucks. Another “ship” sunken?

Saskay, Jaypaul and Cross Messy Triangle

Subsequently, on day 10, we had the messy triangle of Saskay, Jaypaul and Cross as the highlight of the show. Fresh out of the game, JayPaul launched a heartfelt campaign in support of Saskay. Sadly, when her time on the show ended, she made an infamous comment in the lines of not knowing who he was.

JayPaul also cited instances where he repeatedly made moves to maintain a healthy friendship with her but she was hellbent on denying him “more times than Judas denied Jesus Christ.” Lol. Judas don dey suffer for wetin poor guy no do o. Saskay in response accused him of being untruthful and having high expectations from a relationship that they never labelled. Tor. Crazy things are happening.

Likewise Cross, when he had the floor to address his grouse, narrated how a midnight visit to Saskay that she initiated was capitalised on by her fans and how they (fans) sparked rumours of them sharing sexual relations. He said Saskay mmust have leaked it for attention.

The Tega and Boma Situationship

In the episode 11, Tega and Boma finally got a chance to shed some light on their situationship. This came after an hot exchange between Maria and Beatrice over, in my opinion, nonsense. People really need to learn how to fight, though. Maria saw that Beatrice was unprepared and used that to her advantage. On the other hand, people online are saying that the only thing Beatrice said that made sense was the fact that Maria was senseless. Ouch!

Back to Boma and Tega though, Boma claimed that Tega had admitted to him, while in the house, that she was already separated from her ex-Husband. “In my head, I was dealing with a single woman,” He said. Not sure we’re having that as no clip of that exists.

For Tega, she said it was all a strategy. She had already agreed with her ex-husband, and then had to change strategy due to meeting JayPaul in the house. The whole story leaves more questions than answers. Holes in the story I guess. Why did you have your wedding ring on when you had a strategy to go into the house “unmarried”? Why did you and your ex-husband “make up” after the show? How come you didn’t say this sooner when the bashing started online? Anyways, they both admitted that they wish they opted for a less volatile strategy in the house.

On a side note, Boma did say people are jealous of him, and that 98% of married men in Nigeria have girlfriends on the side. Omooooor. Na to find me and who dey the remaining 2% ooo.

What next?

Have you been missing out on all this drama? We definitely can’t wait for the next episode of the show, airing Wednesday night at 10pm on AM Urban (DStv channel 153 and GOtv channel 6) and 10:30pm on AM Family (DStv channel 154 and GOtv channel 2). We know you can’t wait also.

Liquorose and Emmanuel: The Dubai Fiasco

The BBNaija reunion took some time to get going, but things have started getting spicy, and the hottest gist right now is the saga between Liquorose and Emmanuel. Finally. Some much needed action. Well, this was more melodramatic. Lots of emotions here and there. Sadness, anger, joy. The audience definitely felt it, depending on which ship you were. Here’s what happened…

Liquorose during the reunion show on Friday narrated that she caught Emmanuel and an unknown lady in his room in Dubai. Liquorose accused Emmanuel of disrespecting, lying and cheating while they had a relationship. Oops!

She explained that she walked in on Emmanuel in a very compromising position with another lady during their Dubai trip in November 2021. Liquorose said she had wanted to surprise Emmanuel but when she went to his room, it took him 15 minutes to open the door. Ouch…

Emmanuel’s narration was different. He said he was sleeping when Liquor started knocking. Liquorose came prepared however. She reiterated that they were chatting before she arrived at his room. When Ebuka asked him, he then said he was in bed. It was the looks on the other housemates faces for me. That moment when everyone, including yourself, knows you’re lying, but you’re just too stubborn to admit defeat. See video here. Lol. Well, it really wasn’t funny to see Liquor in that position. To be honest, whether you’re a shipper or not, her hurt came through. Though she handled herself with class and panache, speaking calmly and remaining calm, this was one hurt lady.

What Happened After?

She said Emmanuel then proceeded to say though he still loved her, but he didn’t want to be in a committed relationship with her anymore. This was after he refused to go after her when she walked in on himself and the lady in the hotel room. Ebuka then asked after Emmanuel was done lying, sorry, I mean, talking, if they could remain friends, to which they both responded “No.” Shocking, sad, but it is the way things are now. The Emmarose ship has sunk, and it appears there is no hope of reviving. Let sleeping dogs lie, they say.

BBNaija Shine Ya Eye Reunion

BBNaija Shine Ya Eye Reunion is underway and making waves. Some right, some can be better. But the show we waited for is back on our screens. The show premiered on Thursday, 2nd June 2022 and the gbas gbos has already begun.

Angel vs Maria

As early as Friday, Angel and Maria were already trading words. During the show, a clip was shown where Maria accused Angel of kissing almost all the guys in the house. Spicy! Maria, in defence, noted that what she said was simply her opinion of Angel. And the drama took off from there. Angel called Maria out, saying Maria did the same thing, except kiss, which she (Angel) did only while playing the Truth or Dare games. These clips that get played during the show always causes wahala.

Arin vs Nini

The show aired again on Monday, and we had Arin and Nini at loggerheads next. They were close friends in house, but here traded words over disloyalty in their friendship. Nini’s grouse was over an Instagram comment Arin (or her handler, like she claimed) made on Cross’ Instagram page about the fight. To be honest, this particular matter, even I don’t understand it. Ladies, it’s not by force to be friends, really. Lol.

Boma vs Queen and Beatrice

Subsequently, the show aired again on Tuesday, and this time around, the spotlight was on Boma. Ebuka Obi-Uchendu stirred the hornet’s nest when he brought up the comment Boma made about Tega’s private part. If you remember, during a question game in Biggie’s house, Pere had thrown a question at Boma, wanting to know why he said Tega’s Veejay smelt like fish. In response to Ebuka, Boma stated that he heard from Tega that Queen told her that he, Boma, told Pere that Tega’s veejay smelled like fish. Queen flared up at this point and it was no small matter. Too many “I heard, somebody said, they heard, someone else say” if you ask me.

The Boma and Beatrice moment is definitely what fans of the show signed up for. Yas. Finally. The show had some believing it was boring before now. Both housemates traded words over a comment Boma made describing her as ‘irritating’ while in the house. And then Beatrice went all in. She certainly took no prisoners, attacking Boma’s looks and his behaviour while in the house. Boma reciprocated describing Beatrice as ‘local’ and “be like man” to which Beatrice asserted that his girlfriend couldn’t compare. She told him to keep her name out of his mouth “Mr Madman Boma” Yam pepper scatter scatter! Going by reactions on Twitter, Beatrice on the Reunion show is everything fans expected and more from the BBNaija Shine Ya Eye Reunion.

What’s Next?

We can’t wait for the next episode of the show, airing Wednesday night at 10pm on AM Urban (DStv channel 153 and GOtv channel 6) and 10:30pm on AM Family (DStv channel 154 and GOtv channel 2). We know you can’t wait also.

BBnaija Season 6 Finale: Lessons From The Show

76 days after, we arrived at the BBnaija Season 6 finale in style! The show has steadily continued to gather a large fanbase over the seasons and season 6 brought with it twists and turns that viewers simply were not expecting. Whether or not you watch the show however, there were lessons to be learnt, and here are a few.

Be Humble.

Immediately the show started this season, every thought Maria was going to be queen bee. She thought so herself. Always in the conversations, pretty, great accent, she was the alpha female to beat, and she knew it. Alas, it would not be so. She was evicted at the beginning of the sixth week. Many viewers even thought Biggie was going to pull a twist to bring her back. That’s how powerful she was. It wasn’t to be so however. Turns out in this life, you have to be humble, or pretend to be. Even general Pere calmed down drastically the moment she got evicted. He got the message. Loud and clear at that!

Character over Content

Although the show and housemates are largely followed because of the content churned out, Nigerians will apparently not hesitate to call rubbish what it is. Boma and Tega felt they were giving us content when they were doing hanky panky in the house, they wouldn’t have expected the backlash that came with it. They got evicted from the show, Tega is battling to keep her mental health as Nigerians keep coming for her from all angles. Boma, to a large extent is less under attack. He wasn’t the married one, after all. Fair? We can’t say. Subsequently though, we doubt any future housemates will be going this route.

There’s Love, and then there’s Saga and Nini

We really don’t understand this Saga and Nini drama. First, Saga fails his task because Nini was angry at him. Next, Nini disappears from the house (her own task). Saga proceeds to make an utter fool of himself, crying, moping about, the entire works, while Nini watches him on TV. It was super obvious Biggie was involved. Nini couldn’t be kidnapped! The amazing thing is that Nini kept mentioning her boyfriend throughout the show. Now that the show has ended, we are waiting to see where things go. Those of you that have found love, please tell us, is this how it does y’all?

Food is the way to a man’s heart, only if you’re a woman

The eventual BBnaija season 6 finale winner, Whitemoney, found out the hard way. Despite the endless and relentless cooking done by Whitemoney through the show, he and Pere never seemed to connect, with Pere adamant to send him packing. It wasn’t until Maria was sent out of the house that Pere calmed down a bit and readjusted his strategy. It is quite interesting to note that Pere and Maria would eat Whitemoney’s food, but still go and nominate him for eviction. This life!

Be Original!

In a world filled with so much acting and pretence, real recognizes real. ex-housemates like Cross, Liquorose, and Angel won several hearts from their time on the show with their originality. Fans will confirm that Cross and Angel seem genuine, so it’s easier to connect with them, and Liquorose was free-spirited and lovable. Little wonder they made it into the final 6. Little wonder!

Know how to cook good food

Seems like a joke, but this rings true. It was debated endlessly if cooking was Whitemoney’s strategy or not. Right now, it doesn’t matter. He won and that’s on periodt! If you’re handy in a place others aren’t, you already have the advantage. You just have to know how to use it well. Find out what makes you indispensable, and press your advantage home

When it’s your time, it’s your time!

I remember myself and my wife talking about those we wanted in the final. She said something very profound. She said “Liquorose deserves to win it, but Whitemoney is graced.” That statement held true as both made it to the final two (we predicted the top 6 accurately if I may add). Whitemoney eventually won. Liquorose, JayPaul, and Whitemoney have tales of coming close to getting into the house in previous seasons and missing out but now, they got to compete for more money,. Clearly, it was their time.

Get a Business To Mind, Literally

As the BBnaija Season 6 finale came to a close on Sunday, Ebuka asked the top 6 housemates “what’s next” as they were being evicted. Practically all of them mentioned “business” amongst other things they were interested in going into. These are housemates who are already millionaires as a result of their winnings from the show. Meanwhile, Onome and Tunji will not go into business because they are still busy slaying. Continue! Sapa will soon come knocking on your door. Get a side hustle, urgent 2k has finished inside market.

Whitemoney is a clown

Ehnehn now! He has to be. He definitely has plans of joining the comedy industry. Or what else could he have meant when he told Ebuka that he wanted to go into music after the show because his voice cannot waste, Mazi! Which voice naaa…

1. BBNaija Season 6

Big Brother Naija is that show that some of us love to watch, some hate it but watch it, and, in the end, almost everyone keeps up with. The fact is this, Nigerians love drama, and the show has it in loads. Season 6 continues to unravel shocks and drama, and we’re here for it this September. More please!

2. Champions League Football Is Back!

Arguably the biggest tournament in club football, the UEFA Champions League is back this month! The fight to make it to the last 16 begins. And there’s quite a number of mouth watering clashes to look forward to, with Group A pitting Lionel Messi-led PSG against Man City in the battle for superiority. Atletico, Liverpool, Porto and Ac Milan will fight to the death in Group B. Similarly, Barca will discover what it means to play without Messi when they face Bayern, Benfica and Kiev. In conclusion, let the games begin!

3. Football Leagues Are Back!

Firstly, the fans are back! When Covid19 struck, football returned after a while but the fans were banned from the stadiums. Although it was better than watching nothing, nothing compares to watching a stadium alive, the screams, the moments we catch in the rafts, etc. Secondly, we get to watch players who have just completed transferred to new clubs begin to find their feet. The prospect of having Cristiano back in the English Premier League for one, or Messi in a terrifying PSG team. How will the LaLiga be without Messi and Ronaldo? Who will be winners across respective leagues? The race starts now!

4. Movies, Movies and more Movies!

Need we say more? Cable TV brings more movies than you can watch, allowing you binge watch old classics or catch new sitcoms and series across your screen. If you’re a movie lover, then DStv, GOtv and Startimes have you well covered to enjoy this September.

Maria and Pere Kiss In BBNaija

Have you heard about the Maria and Pere kiss? Have you seen the hot steaming kiss that Maria and Pere shared in the Big brother house? Wedding bells are ringing! Fam! We watch BBNaija for the drama and that is exactly what we are getting served this season.

Nigerians are already planning the wedding online as the internet is already ablaze with the news. It appears we have another potential Teddy A and BamBam situation on our hands. Biggie’s House appears to now be the hottest place to find love. We can’t just get over that kiss.

Wait a minute, what kiss? That actually didn’t happen. But the only reason you wouldn’t know that already is because you haven’t subscribed your GOtv or DStv. Just as the only reason you wouldn’t also know that no wedding is being planned online is because you are managing the small data you have and cannot even use it to view WhatsApp statuses.
